As a Planning Coordinator at the Concertgebouw, you’ll work at one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls, in a place where there’s something new to experience every day. You’ll play a key role in making concerts and events possible by scheduling the various hospitality staff, who work as food and beverage/coat check attendants, ushers, tour guides, and party managers. Thanks to your knowledge and experience, and with the help of various software programs, you contribute to the planning and related tasks, such as creating work schedules.

Who are you?
- You have knowledge and experience in planning, and preferably have knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry and, ideally, in management;
- You’re good at organizing and planning. You also think ahead and are good at identifying when your action is needed. You recognize problems and come up with a plan to solve them;
- You are proficient in using Office and Teams and are meticulous—you could even be called a stickler for detail;
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills, and if you also have intercultural communication skills, we would welcome that;
- You enjoy working with colleagues. When the situation calls for it, you’re willing to make tough choices and don’t put off making decisions;
- You are able to handle confidential and personal information with integrity and professionalism;
- In addition, you have strong interpersonal skills: good social skills, such as empathy and an approachable demeanor. You are able to naturally build rapport with employees while also setting boundaries;
- Proficiency in spoken and written Dutch.

What will you be doing?
Your main duties and responsibilities are:
- You will serve as the point of contact for the various hospitality staff members—a group of about 125 colleagues who work in food and beverage service, the coat check, as ushers, tour guides, or party managers;
- You will be responsible for communicating with these employees, both by phone and via email and newsletters;
- You will perform scheduling tasks for the various hospitality staff members, such as creating the schedule, assigning work shifts, arranging for sick leave replacements, reviewing expense reports, and processing shift swaps and schedule changes. In addition, you will handle personnel administration;
- Together with your colleagues, you will conduct recruitment and selection interviews for the hospitality/cloakroom team and meet with these employees during performance reviews.
