Are you a team player who can bring departments and colleagues together to tackle and solve (complex) problems? Can you bring energy to the table and deliver results? Then we’re looking for you!
At the Amsterdam-Amstelland Safety Region, you can work with a great team where you’ll have opportunities to grow in your role.
Our department is part of the Fire Services Sector. This sector consists of 18 fire stations and the departments of Operational Planning, Fire Services Staff Office, Professional Competence, and Risk Management. The mission we face as a Safety Region and organization requires effective (enabling) operational management. This operational management must be both robust and agile.
The Operational Planning Department is responsible for providing optimal support and resources for fire department operations. With a team of 20 colleagues, we ensure that firefighting units can be alerted by the dispatch center, have access to accurate and up-to-date information and procedures, can arrive at the scene, and can make use of the available resources. This enables the fire department to respond quickly, effectively, and safely. We make this possible by collaborating with various departments and external partners, and by establishing agreements with municipalities and the regional government.
To ensure that we can provide appropriate firefighting services both now and in the future, the VrAA must align itself with and respond to developments in the region. Among other things, our department is developing new deployment procedures—such as those for underground firefighting—exploring new fire station locations in light of urban expansion, and seeking further collaboration with other emergency services and agencies in the region.
